While Shawn Michaels missed the entire Attitude Era, Kurt Angle was an up-and-comer in the later period of the era. His legitimate athletic prowess saw him rise to the top far quicker than anyone (including himself) would have ever anticipated. It’s well agreed upon that Angle is one of, if not the fastest learners in pro wrestling history.
He developed into a wrestling machine and became one of WWE’s best in-ring performers, so when he began a feud with the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels in 2005, it was met with much excitement and anticipation.
The two had an intense rivalry that was simply about proving who the better superstar was. Their feud involved elements of comedy as well, making it quite entertaining. Their match at WrestleMania 21 delivered in a big way, stealing the show as expected.
