What Asuka and Ember Moon proved in 2017 was that they were two superstars who could become each other’s greatest career rivals. We’ve seen great chemistry between superstars before but their chemistry can best be described as off the chart.
Ember Moon’s agility, athleticism and high-flying ability matched perfectly with Asuka’s quick, stiff, hard-hitting and submission-based styles. Even though they just had two matches in NXT, one can’t help but feel that they have so much more to offer.
NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III saw Ember Moon take Asuka on in the latter’s final match in NXT. Their previous encounter saw Asuka cheat for the first time in her NXT career as she used her desperation to beat Ember nefariously. They were positioned as equals and in their final encounter in NXT, Asuka proved to be superior as she beat Ember Moon clean.
She would relinquish the NXT Women’s title shortly thereafter, ending her reign at a record 510 days. William Regal then revealed that he had begun negotiations for her to move to the main roster.
