#3.) vs Bayley – NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II
Asuka vs Bayley 2 was clearly superior to the first match. The story this time was of Bayley, no longer an underdog, trying to capture back the NXT Women’s title. They had one of the best matches in WWE Women’s history at Takeover Brooklyn II and it seemed like a far more even contest this time around, with counters after counters. The storytelling of the match was top-notch.
However, it was clear that what lied ahead for Bayley was not the NXT Women’s title. Asuka defeated her again, clean as a whistle. They embraced in respect and the crowd chanted “Thank you Bayley” after the match. It was an emotional moment as Bayley went to her biggest fan “Izzy”, who wished her good luck. Everyone, including Bayley, knew that her time in NXT was over and she pointed to the NXT logo in the ramp as she made her exit with a new goal in mind – Monday Night RAW.
