It was a long road to Starrcade 1997 for Sting. For a long time, he had been warring with the NWO and hardly even wrestled a match. The storyline would see him systematically take out the members of the NWO and find his way to their leader – Hulk Hogan. The match was one of the most anticipated bouts in wrestling history and the payoff was incredible.
Despite a controversial, screwy finish, Sting beating Hogan marked a huge milestone in his career and a big victory for WCW as well.
