#1.) vs Ricky Steamboat – WrestleWar 1989

The conclusion of the Flair-Steamboat trilogy took place at WrestleWar. It had a 60-minute time limit and 3 judges (2 being Terry Funk and Lou Thesz). The emotions heading into the match were at an all-time high and there were few matches that felt as important. At the end of it all, it was two competitors who were the best, trying to prove themselves against each other.

Throughout the match, the crowd was behind Flair and he had basically turned face. This time, the match only crossed half an hour but what a quick half an hour it was. Flair won back the NWA World title and Steamboat looked incredible in defeat. The two paid their respects to each other and right after the match, Flair would get assaulted by Terry Funk, beginning a feud with him.
