Then-SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan had been pushing for a NO DQ match between Nikki Bella and Carmella for months. Carmella had ruined Nikki Bella’s big return to SmackDown Live and they faced off in October where Nikki won. The feud was a surprisingly good one. Despite having lesser big names in the women’s division, the SmackDown women took it to another level after the 2016 brand split.
It was fresh and it was exciting and Carmella and Nikki Bella had an extremely entertaining match that saw the use of kendo sticks and fire extinguishers, among other things. Nikki Bella once again prevailed, putting an end to her feud with Carmella.
