4) Abyss vs Rhino vs Sabu vs Jeff Hardy – Monster’s Ball 2 – TNA Bound For Glory 2005
The second and some would say the best iteration of the Monster’s Ball match saw two ECW alums, a WWE tag team legend, and the TNA original go at it in a four-way match that helped to define the growing legacy Abyss. The Monster would go on to participate in-ring in 46 of the 48 Monster’s Ball matches and manage in another. This match helped to showcase the feud between Hardy and Abyss and it’s rumored that WWE turned their eyes to the monster based on this bout and the match that occupies our number one spot. In fact, he came very near signing with the company in 2006.
Though he would go on to have the Barbed Wire Massacre match with Sabu that is number 5 on this list, this match is all about his interactions with Hardy and the two nearly steal the match from the two ECW originals. In the end, though, the match is great due to the efforts of all four men. That said, there’s little to deny that Abyss, bump machine powerhouse that he was, stands out in this match.
