Goldust was originally scheduled to face Razor Ramon at WrestleMania 12 for the Intercontinental title. However, Ramon’s suspension and rumors of him jumping ship to WCW saw him get pulled from the card. He was then replaced by Roddy Piper, who The Golden One faced in a Hollywood Backlot Brawl.
The match was bizarre enough for more than one reason; they even used footage from OJ Simpson’s car chase when Piper chased Goldust only six months after the infamous trial. The most bizarre moment, however, came when Piper ripped The Bizarre One’s ring gear, revealing that he was wearing lingerie underneath.
One would think that it was creative’s idea, but as it turns out, Goldust himself pitched the idea to Vince McMahon, getting approval.
