Diamond Dallas Page took on Sting, Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair for in a Four Corners match for the WCW World Championship. It was a huge moment for Page as he never really won the big gold belt. With “Macho Man” Randy Savage as special guest referee, Page wound up hitting a beautiful Diamond Cutter on then-champion Ric Flair, capturing the WCW World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career.
Though his reign would only last 15 days, it was the culmination of years of hard work for DDP. It was also a nod to naysayers who didn’t believe he could make it to the top starting off so late.
