From being a boy in Bulgaria with a dream, he not only moved to the United States to make his dream come true, but he made history while doing so. When he signed his contract in 2010, he became the first-ever Bulgarian to sign with the company. If you really think about it, despite playing an Anti-American heel for so many years, Rusev is the true embodiment of the American dream.
Rusev’s fascination with the United States began from when he was very young, primarily due to video games, movies and pro-wrestling. He revealed to Chris Jericho on an episode of Talk Is Jericho that he knew early on that he would have to learn English, which is why he took an active interest in learning the language since 3rd grade!
