After Jeff Hardy lost a World title rematch to CM Punk on an episode of SmackDown inside a steel cage match, the stipulation dictated that if he were to lose, he would have to retire.
Unfortunately, Hardy lost the match and was forced to leave WWE. In an extremely emotional farewell, he said: “This is just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever”. For years, fans would eagerly anticipate the return of Jeff (and Matt) Hardy, and Jeff was true to his word.
