In early 2016, The New Day were heels but their popularity levels had skyrocketed, simply due to how entertaining they were. It became hard to hate them and every time they were out, the crowd would chant “New Day Rocks” in unison. WWE decided the time was right and pulled the trigger on a face turn.
In a feud with The League Of Nations, The New Day was attacked after winning a tag title match, officially turning face. They weren’t victorious at WrestleMania 32, but they happened to be the top merchandise sellers on WrestleMania weekend – a huge testament to their popularity. It truly was the right move at the right time.
