Violent J explores the possibility of a WWE Hall of Fame induction.
Earlier this year, Eric Bischoff started an unofficial petition calling for the Insane Clown Posse’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard recently caught up with ICP’s Violent J to gather his thoughts on this potential movement.
According to Violent J, an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame seemed far-fetched in years past. As time has passed by, though, Violent J now sees it as a real possibility.
“I just can’t even believe [Bischoff said] that,” Violent J said. “… I never thought we had a chance of ever being in the WWE Hall of Fame. I never thought that would that that would be a reality. But as time goes by, I start to think, because I’m only 52 and another 20 years of being in this business, and if in the future I can last to be 72, and we keep putting it down the way we’ve been doing, and we keep doing the things with wrestling that we’ve been doing, that just might happen one day. It’s crazy to think it couldn’t. I think it’s not likely, but I don’t want to say it’s impossible either, because we have done a lot in wrestling. When you look back on it, we’ve done a lot.”
ICP In The Celebrity Wing?
Though ICP previously wrestled in the rings of WCW and ECW, Violent J would personally like to be welcomed into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame, as the ICP name extends well into the music world as well.
“I’m not talking about being in the Hall of Fame as a wrestler, I’m talking about in The Celebrity Wing,” Violent J said. “We were there. We were in WCW, we were in ECW. We’ve been to Ring of Honor and TNA, Japan, Mexico, we’ve done it all. So I don’t know what the future holds and it would be so dope. I’m so honored that he said that. I don’t know if he was serious about it, but it would be so dope. It’d probably mean more to me than being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, honestly. To be in the WWE Hall of Fame, it would just be next level, man.”
“If Kid Rock’s in it, what the f*** is he doing in it and we’re not? That’s an honest argument I will make, because we have so much more to do with wrestling than him. I don’t expect to be in it. I’m not like, ‘How come we ain’t in it’?’ It would be a huge f***in honor and awesome to be asked to be in it one day.”
