Vicious Vicki is thankful.
Growing up, a young, slightly less vicious Vicki was deeply captivated by the work and personal stories of The Hardy Boyz. Twenty years later, the now full-on Vicious Vicki secured a full-circle opportunity that placed her in the same locker room as them.
This opportunity occurred at TNA Wrestling’s June 28, 2024 television tapings, in which Vicki and fellow indie star Kelly Madan faced TNA’s Dani Luna and Jody Threat for a recent episode of TNA Xplosion (aired July 12).
“It was a really great experience; I’m really not just saying that,” Vicki told WrestleZone’s Ella Jay. “Everyone was so great at TNA. I would love to be back there. It’s literally the perfect environment. Everyone was so welcoming and so understanding and it was cool. It’s in Philly, people knew me, which is awesome. Just being able to know that this three minutes that I had, it was very special to me. I don’t take it for granted.”
“I am such a grateful person. And I work on gratitude. It’s not just me talking out of my butt. I really am grateful for these opportunities because they’re far and few between, but they’re also often. It’s a really weird dynamic in wrestling right now because it’s like sometimes you feel like it’s not in reach, and then all of a sudden, you’re like, ‘Oh, I have this opportunity.’ And that’s what they always say — to always be ready because you just don’t know. I would love to go back there. I’m confident that that maybe I will one day. Everybody was great, even the Hardys. I got a big hug from Matt, and it made my whole day.”
Valuable Feedback
In addition to The Hardy Boyz, the TNA locker room included veterans such as Frankie Kazarian, Rhino, and Gail Kim, the latter of whom helped the women coordinate their tag team match. Kim, along with Luna and Threat, also extended Vicious Vicki some valuable advice — something she remains highly grateful for.
“Gail was fantastic,” Vicki said. “She was hands-on with everything — watched the match, went over the match. Just having her expertise alone was, the coolest thing in the world because she’s so damn good and so damn smart. Just watching her growing up and just knowing that her input was the best input, I could have had all night.”
“People were all watching backstage. You had a couple people come up to me and say, ‘It was great, you did good.’ And again, our job is to sell. My job is to make you look good and I really do my absolute best to do that. Even Jody and Dani too were great with feedback and helping us out and being very welcoming. It was just a great experience, it really was. I loved TNA. It’s just amazing.”
The respective TNA tapings were held at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, about two hours from Vicki’s hometown of Belleville, New Jersey.
