Kaci Lennox is rooting for Mercedes Moné.
Though they have yet to formally cross paths, Kaci Lennox and her “twin,” Mercedes Moné, do share a common link in the form of the D-Von Dudley Academy. Lennox remains a regular fixture of the Florida-based school since joining it in late 2020. Meanwhile, Moné utilized the D-Von Dudley Academy as a host for training sessions ahead of and following her in-return at AEW Double or Nothing.
During a recent interview with WrestleZone‘s Ella Jay, Lennox spoke about Moné’s in-ring comeback, specifically her win over Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing. With this victory, Moné became the holder of the TBS Championship.
“First of all, congratulations to Mercedes. And congratulations to Willow, because they both went out and killed it,” Lennox said. “Love Willow. I do wish that she would have had a longer title run. However, who knows what this is going to like lead to. We literally had Mercedes Moné and Willow Nightingale, who had a match previous to this. I love how it just all came together. We don’t know what’s going to happen after this. This is not the end for Willow. I feel like this is literally just the beginning of a major story, so I’m excited.”
“I am excited for Mercedes winning,” Lennox continued. “She’s always been somebody who has stood up for the females in the locker room. She stood up for what’s best for the females in the locker room, what’s best for storylines for said females. I’m really excited to see what she does over in AEW. I feel like what she’s done so far without even wrestling has been amazing. So yeah, I’m just excited to see kind of what’s next in that story for her and Willow and what’s next in her story for the rest of the females in AEW.”
In addition to the D-Von Dudley Academy, Lennox and Moné also find a common thread in All Elite Wrestling, as both have now officially wrestled for the company.
