Jessica Troy is honored to share the ring with Tenille Dashwood.
In less than 24 hours, twenty-one competitors will partake in the second-ever all-women’s wrestling show led by veteran Mickie James. This event, titled “HER,” which emanates from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, will bring forth several Australian-based performers, in addition to representatives from TNA Wrestling, AAA, and the former WWE NXT UK. One of the featured Australian talents is “The Arm Collector” Jessica Troy, who currently reigns as the PWA Heavyweight Champion.
Speaking with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Troy recalled her initial reaction to hearing the news of this upcoming show. “I thought it was fantastic because it’s only going to bring more eyes onto the great talents that we have here. I can’t see it doing anything else besides that,” Troy said. “You have amazing talent coming over just to show off our talent here. Even just coming to watch Jordynne Grace against DELTA, who doesn’t want to see DELTA? She’s amazing.”
Jessica Troy vs. Tenille Dashwood
While DELTA attempts to dethrone TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace, Jessica Troy will take on Tenille Dashwood in what will be Dashwood’s first post-WWE match. Dashwood, of course, is no stranger to the Australian wrestling scene, as she was raised in the suburbs of Melbourne. Despite this familiarity though, April 12 will also mark the first-ever in-ring meeting between Dashwood and Troy.
“I think it’s really cool [getting to wrestle Dashwood],” Troy said. “So many great Australian talent obviously worked her before she went to WWE, and I feel so lucky to be included in that list now. I’m really excited to learn from her and just to have fun.”
In further assessing her opponent’s in-ring career, Troy noted that Dashwood remains a notable pioneer not only for Australian wrestling, but also for the women of WWE.
“I think she has one of the biggest impacts ever on the Australian wrestling scene,” Troy said. “She was one of the first, if not the first Australian, to go over to WWE, right? She was over there by herself for a long time without anyone else there. So I think it’s amazing the work that she put in, the effort she put in back here to get noticed and to continue that with her character development over there with her wrestling over there. I think she was a great pioneer, not just for Australian wrestling, but for the female superstars in WWE as well.”
