Bronson Reed Reflects On Getting Hit In The Meat Balls And Going Viral For It

Bronson Reed knows you can never count on what will grab attention.

The November 28, 2023 episode of NXT saw Bronson Reed return to the brand for a four-way match against Wes Lee, Cameron Grimes, and Johnny Gargano. During the match, Gargano catapulted Grimes into Reed’s “meatballs,” and Reed immediately showed a painful reaction.

WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard recently spoke with Reed about the incident. He said you never know what is going to get more attention, but he thinks his expression really helped sell it to fans.

“Those moments are always interesting because sometimes you can have a stellar 25-minute match that’s incredible,” Bronson Reed explained. “You might get so many views online, maybe to the millions or whatever. But me getting the “little Bronsons” hit got over 6 million views. So sometimes you don’t know what it’s going to be that goes viral. But I think it was to do with my facial expression.”

That moment happened in 2023, so is there anything new he’s looking to do in 2024 that will help elevate him even more?

“I’m someone that’s heavily influenced by film. So I’ve been trying to implicate that into my promo work, into my wrestling, even into my entrance attire,” Reed said. “So I think you’re going to start seeing that more influence of the things I love, hopefully becoming a part of Bronson Reed. And hopefully, that’s going to set me aside in 2024.”
