GUNTHER wants a different ending in 2024 compared to last year’s Royal Rumble.
WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard spoke with GUNTHER at the 2024 Royal Rumble media day. The longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion is currently focused on winning this year’s Rumble match. He entered at #1 last year and made it to the end before being eliminated by Cody Rhodes, the 2023 winner.
He wants to enter the match first again, but hopes there’s a different outcome.
“I want to win the Royal Rumble tomorrow. That’s one of the things that I’m definitely focused on right now. Because last year was actually bittersweet. You [enter the match in the first spot], but then you lose to the guy that comes out at #30. It is what it is, it’s definitely bittersweet, but this I hope I start first, and I hope I win it this time.”
The Ring General was confirmed as an entrant in the 2024 Royal Rumble on the January 15 episode of WWE RAW. His entry number has not yet been revealed.
The 2024 WWE Royal Rumble takes place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg on January 27, 2024. Check out our full interview with GUNTHER below:
