Father James Mitchell is extremely proud of the work that Max The Impaler has been doing.
WrestleZone recently spoke with Father James Mitchell, who currently works with the NWA. Mitchell will serve as host of the NWA Samhain pay-per-view. He also appears as the manager for Max The Impaler, the current NWA World Women’s Television Champion.
Mitchell was asked what it’s been like getting to work with Max, who is also the current Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling International Princess Champion. Mitchell said being aligned with the “Non-Binary Nightmare” is the perfect combination.
“I think it’s been tremendous. And it’s it’s been history-making,” he noted. “Max also recently won a title in Japan. And that makes Max also the first non-binary champion to have a hold of a title in Japan as well. I was impressed with them and putting us together was this perfect combination.”
An impressive competitor
Mitchell said that some other pairings in the past felt like he overshadowed the talent. However, his pairing with a “monster heel” like Max works much better.
“I’m not the kind of manager you can put with a regular talent, because — the word I’ve gotten over the years is that I could overshadow [talent] or chew up the scenery. When you have a monster heel, especially one who does not talk, [that] works much better. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. Max reminds me, in terms of their working style, of a young Big Van Vader. Some of the other big monster heels, too. I’m really, really impressed with Max.”
Judais, Max the Impaler, Alex Misery, and Magic Inc. (Cody James and “Magic” Jake Dumas) (with CJ and Father James Mitchell) will face Sal the Pal, Gaagz the Gymp, Koa Laxamana, and Magnum Muscle (Dak Draper and Mims) (with Kallies Malia) in a Devil’s Last Dance Ultimate Hardcore War at NWA Samhain. If Sal and Gaagz’s team loses, they will be forever indentured to Mitchell.
NWA Samhain will air on FITE on October 28. WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs. Watch our full interview with Father James Mitchell below:
