Talk about a match that fans have been chirping for since 2015. John Cena and Roman Reigns will do battle at No Mercy in a match that has gotten the ears and eyes of every wrestling fan around the world. A WrestleMania main event match featuring the two most polarizing figures in WWE history, but who really needs to win this match? Honestly, I think the winner will be John Cena.

Roman Reigns is always going to have a mixed reaction and will never lose his shining star power. John Cena is John Cena, but I think WWE lets this be the first of multiple encounters. You can get more out of these guys in a feud, involving the likes of legends and cousins. Roman Reigns vs. John Cena is NOT going to be a one off match. Hell, I would not be surprised if this somehow becomes the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania. This could take a similar pattern in booking terms as John Cena vs. The Rock, whether you like it or not. Roman will get the respect of John Cena, but not at No Mercy. One mistake, one slip-up and the 16-time world champion can walk away laughing and come back a month or two later still being the man that shut up Roman Reigns. Upon his return, we should see Roman turn even more into a heel that wants revenge, similar to how he was booked against Braun and Brock.

WWE Universal Championship

The Beast vs. The Monster. Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman is a match that I have been thirsting for since Braun’s incredible run began earlier this year. Paul Heyman has spoken many truths about Braun Strowman. He is the worthiest of opponents for the WWE Universal Championship. He should be viewed as the favorite in a match against Brock Lesnar, outweighing the beast by almost 100 pounds. He is taller and stronger, but is he more technically sound than the champion? I feel like that is where this match could take a turn for Lesnar, by grounding the big man and trying to make him submit.

This match needs to have a similar booking to Great Balls of Fire, where Lesnar looks insecure and questioning his offense. If Braun gets the early upper hand, I expect Brock to unleash hell. If they book it where both men are feeling the other out, I see WWE going a more tactical and technical route. Let the bodies hit the floor early and often between Brock and Braun, with Strowman finally getting the Universal Championship around his waist. This gives Lesnar time off to recuperate, arrive back in January to either enter the Rumble or cash in on his rematch. They did Goldberg vs. Lesnar twice, with an encounter at Royal Rumble. I would not be surprised if they try it again or try to give this feud more legs to it than one match.

When the night is over, Brock Lesnar should be laying at the feet of Braun Strowman, the new WWE Universal Champion.
