Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “Breaking The Fourth Wall Continues, But Is It Always a Good Thing?”

Brock and Braun Face to Face

One of the underrated spots of the night, also one of the smartest spots, was when Braun Strowman came out and Brock Lesnar hit a suplex on him. Braun popped right back up and Lesnar looked like he saw a ghost. Nobody has been able to pop up like that on a trip to Suplex City, which makes their brawl on WWE RAW very memorable. For years, you either love or hate how many German Suplexes Brock Lesnar uses in a match. I enjoy it because it makes Lesnar look unstoppable with one move, furthering his aurora of being the “baddest dude on the planet.” Strowman popped up and then took out Lesnar with a Powerslam, putting his foot on the chest of the beast and posing with the WWE Universal Championship.

You have to enjoy the realism and simplicity of this feud. Who is bigger, badder and stronger? Heyman said it best tonight and a match with these two monsters can go 8 minutes and be completely worth it. Lesnar looks to be the underdog, but I am still uncertain if Strowman wins the title in a few weeks. I would let him win, but the booking says otherwise leading up to it. Either way, another successful week with both men doing exactly what is needed. Not too much, but just enough action.

Bray Wyatt defeated Goldust

At first, I did not understand this pairing and match. I did get it when he wiped off Goldust’s face and showed the world the human behind the paint. Even though the feud with Finn Balor has not been great, this was probably the most logical thing they have done. Wyatt wants to reveal the human inside of everyone and thinks that he can do this and show the world Finn Balor has no demons in him. It gives us time away from Demon King, which helps it not become over-exposed and also keeps two mid to main event level talent in a somewhat important feud.

Elias defeated Kalisto

Elias smashed Kalisto into the apron and caught him mid air from diving and taking out The Drifter. Kalisto battled back with kicks and chops, but an intense powerbomb from Elias on the apron stopped Kalisto dead in his tracks and Elias would eventually pick up the win. The song from Elias was so good, yet so simple. Natural heel heat and bashing a city is the easiest way to get a new heel over. Elias continues to do the little things right to remain interesting, even if it is with a mid-card talent who is better suited for 205 Live.
