Isenberg Reacts: Previewing SummerSlam From The Smackdown Live Side

Smackdown Women’s Championship

This is the least interesting match on the card for me because Smackdown went with their fourth most talented women’s performer to battle for the title. Becky, Charlotte and even Carmella would be a more intriguing match, but I am going to focus on the build more here as well. Natalya is a good wrestler, without a doubt. Her heel persona just does not click with me, especially when she takes pictures of her cat every day and talks about how much she loves everyone at nausea. She does not LIVE her heel gimmick. Naomi, on the other hand, is an athletic champion that WWE has wanted to invest in. Her entrance is great. Her skill set is average. Should she be champion? That is questionable, but she has done all she can to be interesting on a weekly basis.

Unfortunately, when you have other talented performers on the sideline for this SummerSlam match, I fear fans will use this as a beer and bathroom break. Sadly enough, this should be on the Kickoff show, but a tease of a Carmella cash-in will likely keep it for the main card. Does Carmella cash-in? I think Ellsworth tries to help her, we get a tease and Ms. Money in the Bank eventually runs off before the match starts.
