Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “Toronto Loves Lesnar, Boos Bayley and Believes in Balor Club”

Two Triple Threat Matches

After finding out that Bayley is out for SummerSlam (how crazy was the crowd booing her and how uncomfortable she looked), WWE RAW would give us two triple threat matches. The first saw the Toronto crowd get behind Emma, after a nasty looking backbreaker onto Sasha Banks. Alicia Fox tried to get Emma to tap out, but to no avail. Sasha Banks would lock in a Bank Statement to Alicia and then to Emma, forcing her to tap out. Sasha Banks moves onto next week, where she would face the winner of the second triple threat match.

The second one was all about power, intensity and Nia Jax. She took easy care of Dana Brooke and Mickie James, punching her ticket to next week’s WWE RAW to fight Sasha Banks. I expect Sasha Banks to win, but if Nia Jax wins it could finally be her time on top. That is a scary thing, especially since there are not many women that could remotely match up to her physicality and size. I am good with both options for different reasons, so next week should be interesting. Tonight’s matches were simply okay, with very little drama or belief that the underdogs in the match could actually win.

Lastly, Bayley needs to be off of WWE television and come back with an attitude. Enough of the “I love this stuff” mentality and come back an edgier face who can still hug everyone but also know when to flip the switch and get physical.

Jason Jordan is in a Tough Spot

Because of the nature of his terrible mic work and worse booking decision, Jason Jordan is going to get booed out of every building in the near future. It started a few weeks ago when nobody really cared to see him fight, carried into Toronto and has Boston and New York to worry about. It has absolutely nothing to do with his abilities. He is getting very little to work with when talking and his matches are lasting a few minutes each. I am not sure how to flip the fan’s mentality here.

Jason Jordan has the raw tools to be good, but will he be able to overcome a smart crowd basically from week to week? Beating jobbers like Jean-Paul Goulet will not help his cause.

Big Cass vs. Big Show at SummerSlam

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows made easy work of Big Show and Enzo Amore. Big Show got distracted by Cass, who walked out to the ring. This led to a running kick from Anderson and Enzo being knocked out…again. At SummerSlam, he will be in a shark cage while Show and Cass battle it out. Why? Because everyone cares about this feud… one that has already seen Cass lay out both men at once.

Man, this is so uninteresting to me and I really hope this is a pre-show match. It has NO need to be on the main card.
