Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “The Samoan Destroyer Silences Doubters”

Sasha’s Win and Alexa’s Statement

wwe-womens-championship-social

The women’s division is still focusing around Alexa Bliss, which is the right decision. Tonight, she battled Mickie James and would defeat her with a DDT. This would not be the end, as she would grab a Kendo Stick and whip James until Bayley had to come out and make the save. Bayley teased using the Kendo Stick, but the champ backed away.

Earlier in the night, we saw Sasha Banks get some revenge on Alicia Fox, one week after Fox picked up an upset win. Both women exchanged some victories and I was absolutely alright with that. Do we really need to see Sasha Banks win matches every single week? No. Do we need to see some attitude and “extreme” behavior from Bayley? Absolutely.

Make me believe that Bayley has a backbone. She does not need to win at Extreme Rules, but she does need to get to a physical level that she has never been to before. She relies so much on her love for the sport that she is not getting any better. Complacency is not to be rewarded, but improvement in character development and in-ring ability is. This is EXACTLY why Alexa Bliss is your RAW Women’s Champion and Bayley or Sasha is not.

Finn Balor’s Night

Big thanks to Paul Heyman, a man who can get a garbage can over in the ring. He comes out and interrupts Finn Balor, begins to talk about how great he is and really pushes his ability in the ring. Balor thanks him for it and Heyman says that Brock Lesnsar is ready to fight Finn Balor whenever he wanted. Finn says he is going to beat “The Beast.” This goes into his match with Karl Anderson.

Anderson and Balor, known as friends in real life, did battle on WWE RAW in a solid bout. Anderson really grounded him early with a few knee strikes and then a beautiful spinebuster. Later in the match, Balor fought back. Sling blade was followed by multiple strikes to the chest. Balor would end up getting the win with a Coup De Grace.

The match wasn’t amazing, but it was simple and logical. If I am WWE, I give Balor Luke Gallows in the future. To make us believe that size will not be an issue between Balor and Brock, you have to put him up against guys of his size. Gallows is a really big man with a lot of power. His offense is different than Lesnar’s, but nobody truly compares to Brock’s abilities. I would love to see more of Balor versus fresh opponents, but we need Anderson and Gallows to back up Balor in a fight against The Beast Incarnate at the end of the day. It will not happen, but should.
