Welcome To The Show, Luke Harper

The best loss of the night came from Luke Harper, who had the spotlight on him during his match with Randy Orton. When booking this match, you knew that Orton was a heavy favorite. Unless Harper cheated to win or somehow fooled Randy in a way that didn’t make him look weak, you knew an RKO would be the deciding factor.

We know how good Randy Orton is. We have seen it time and time again, but we rarely get 15-20 minutes of work from Harper. More often than not, he is involved in a tag match or a short main event on Smackdown Live. His speed, power, agility and persona in the ring is so good, so effective and so stable. Tonight was his coming out party, one that tells us that Smackdown Live may have a new face to fear. Luke Harper fights like a Cruiserweight in a Heavyweight’s body. I really enjoyed this match and what it brought to the forefront.

A Surprising Champion

Alexa Bliss vs. Naomi at WWE Elimination Chamber seemed to be an easy transitional match for bigger things for Bliss. That was not the case, as Naomi pulled the upset, hitting her springboard split from the top rope and pinned the champion in under 9 minutes. Surprising to say the least, considering this feud was only 2 weeks old.

I am not against the title switch but I do think it should have been drawn out longer. Naomi is very talented, has a fun gimmick that reached many demographics. Hell, I love EDM so her song and entrance gets me pumped up to watch her. She has earned it and I am surprised it did not come sooner. With all of that being said, they talk about her hometown of Orlando. Wouldn’t it have been sweeter and better if she WON the championship in Orlando? I feel like she is more likely to lose it in Orlando now, which apparently WWE loves to do to get heat on a heel. Either way, kudos to Naomi and I can’t wait to see what Alexa does to get it back.
