Six Man Tag Team Match
I am impressed and surprised by WWE. Giving a few guys like Kenny and Mikey from the Spirit Squad second life was risky, but it is paying off. They teamed with The Miz to take on Dolph Ziggler and the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater and Rhyno. All hell broke loose, as you would expect. Miz knocks Rhyno off the ring apron with a stiff punch, but Dolph Ziggler Superkick’s The Miz. Hot tags to Heath and Kenny, with Slater hitting a running boot to Kenny. Slater is on fire with a neckbreaker that gives him a two count. Mikey gets Gored by the Man Beast and Kenny throws Rhyno to the outside. The Miz cheap shots Slater from the outside and Kenny rolls Slater up to pickup the victory.
Is this going to mean The Spirit Squad is here to stay? I would not be against it. Kenny was really good and looks to still be in prime shape. He was the guy that was supposed to succeed over Dolph and even had a feud with Ric Flair. I can see him and Mikey getting a chance to remain on the Smackdown Live roster for the time being, at least until they wise up and give American Alpha the push they deserve. You have to give credit where credit is due, letting Dolph and The Miz carry this feud while adding another championship with them. I am all for adding champions together, especially with Health and Rhyno. Anyone who teams with Dolph gets a great crowd response. These guys are all so likable together and possess different, yet exciting, charisma.
Baron Buries Jack
The Lone Wolf destroys Jack Swagger on Smackdown Live. A few offensive moves from Swagger did nothing to derail Corbin, a guy who looks like such a good heel with no story. Again, Baron has potential but when he gets constantly put in situations like this, how are the fans supposed to react to him? When meaningful matches come his way, maybe I will change my tune. Especially with how Smackdown has given random guys an opportunity, why are they not giving Baron his? It is very surprising to me.
