The Best of Friends and Seth Rollins
WWE RAW kicks off with Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho talking about how Mick Foley is against both of them. Jericho cuts a funny promo and adds him to the list, as well as the referee. Seth Rollins makes his way out and talks about how Kevin Owens let his best friend take another Pedigree without trying to save him. The name sparkle crotch is assigned to Jericho, thanks to Seth Rollins. Seth gets under the skin of Jericho and ultimately leads to a match. Chris Jericho tells KO that he does not want him at ringside and wants to beat Seth Rollins by himself.
The match was really good and took a nice 15 minutes for completion. Jericho catapults Seth on the middle rope, hanging him out to dry. He connects with a few clotheslines and then reverses some of Seth’s offense. Jericho hits a springboard missile dropkick to send Rollins to the outside. Seth gets back into the ring and begins to take over, as he hits a running knee and then a Falcon Arrow. Kevin Owens’ music hits and out comes the champion. He tries to distract Rollins, but Seth connects with some kicks and a flying knee. Jericho is able to reverse Seth and then lock in the Walls of Jericho. KO pushes the rope away, but is caught by the referee. Jericho gets distracted and upset, leading to Seth Rollins hitting a Pedigree for the win.
Backstage, Chris Jericho almost calls Kevin Owens a stupid idiot. He stops himself and it looks as if both men are not happy with one another.
I was thoroughly entertained for the first half hour because of all three men. I really enjoyed the interactions like always and feel that the match was a perfect way to kick off WWE RAW. Seth and Jericho work so well together and the seeds are being planted for Chris Jericho to get fed up with Kevin Owens. As over as Chris Jericho is, along with RAW having very few faces, you need him to turn on KO sooner rather than later. I think it will happen and hopefully in Toronto at Survivor Series. A card with three RAW/Smackdown matches, two world title matches and Goldberg/Lesnar would be a stacked card that everyone would enjoy. I would certainly drink IT in.
Charlotte and Sasha Talk To Lita
In two separate interviews, Lita talks with Charlotte and Sasha Banks about themselves and being in the Hell in a Cell match. Charlotte talks about how she is genetically superior and that she is always 100%. She talks about winning 12 straight PPV matches and says that she was born ready for this. We get Sasha, who reminds us that this was her dream as a child. She talks about being “The Boss” and being the Women’s Champion.
I am not bashing the idea of this because I thought this was really good. Lita is a great interviewer and showed that she could transition into a journalistic role down the road. I have enjoyed her work and think that she could be a great addition to WWE.com and other web exclusives. I just want more from both women, aside from hearing the same reasoning they are wrestlers. Sasha… we get it. Charlotte… we get it. Give me better mic skills and more bashing on the other. We know why you are both here and why you are successful. You tell the fans the same thing every week. I want to latch onto something else.
