How To Continue Making History For The WWE Women’s Roster, What Match is Next?

Women’s Hell in a Cell

At WWE Hell in a Cell, Sasha Banks and Charlotte will make history. They will become the first women to compete inside the demonic structure and put the RAW Women’s Championship on the line. My co-host on Chair Shot Reality thinks that this match might not be the best idea. I will have to respectfully disagree. Justin LaBar posted the following on Upgruv.com, where you can find more of his entertaining articles.

“Charlotte vs Sasha Banks inside a Hell in a Cell. First time ever a women’s match in WWE inside this structure is an attraction. While I look forward to the match, I’m also scared. They are flag bearers of a new era in WWE women’s wrestling of quality and presentation. A position both take serious and hold with pride. Just imagine the pressure they might feel and put on themselves in a match that’s known to shorten careers.”

There have been 33 Hell in a Cell matches, with 3 more coming in just a few weeks. This match can be more dangerous, but it does not have to be. To capitalize on the success of the women, you need to be creative and develop matches for them that are historic. We cannot keep having basic singles matches for the Women’s Championship. This is one of those moments. I disagree with saying this match shortens careers. The scripting of the moves in this match CAN shorten careers. EVERY match in a professional wrestling ring shortens careers. I do think there will be a ton of pressure on the women, but it is up to Sasha Banks and Charlotte to protect one another. Have they ever succumbed to the pressure yet?

You are not going to see them fly off the top of the structure or breaking down the side cages. I think the quality of this match will be exactly what we need it to be; a match where you get excellent in-ring action along with a FEW dives to the outside and into the cage. We have seen so many Hell in a Cell matches that stay inside the cell. With two other matches in the structure, I expect this to be the only one that stays inside of it. We know Charlotte and Sasha can get creative, so let them be creative and trust one another. Is it risky? Yes. Does it shorten careers? What match can you say doesn’t shorten careers these days, especially with Suicide Dives and Moonsaults being used more frequently than a clothesline. After Hell in a Cell, WWE and the fans will applaud each woman on taking this chance and closing the gap even more with male and female competitors.

After this, what else should be history-making for the Women of WWE? The answer is simple…
