Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens Rule RAW
The best friends of RAW come out and talk about being Universal Champion. Owens addresses Seth Rollins and then Chris Jericho talks about how they should go after the WWE Tag Team Championships. There is a slight moment where Owens does not love the idea and Jericho says at least he didn’t ask for a Universal Championship match. This pause gets the crowd fired up, but Kevin Owens agrees and says that The New Day is not the ideal best friends we think. The New Day makes their way to the ring, but end up getting put on The List of Jericho. Woods gets put on it twice and the hilarity ensues. New Day make fun of Jericho and Owens, with Woods taking a shot at Owens’ weight. This segment turns into a tag team match later in the night.
They add a backstage segment with Danny Masterson and Ashton Kutcher, who end up being at ringside on commentary. The action picks up quickly, with Big E hitting some power moves on Chris.
Owens hits Big E with the cannonball and a running senton. We come back from break and Xavier is cleaning the ring of Jericho and Owens. KO hits a fireman’s carry into a gutbuster for a near fall, thanks to a distraction. Chris Jericho tags in and tries to set Woods up for a superplex. Woods tosses Jericho off the top rope and hits a cross body. KO gets the tag and hits a DDT on Woods for a two count. Seth Rollins’ music hits and he walks out on the ramp. Owens is distracted long enough for Woods to hit an enziguri. Big E hits a few belly to belly suplexes on Jericho. Big E catches him and belly to belly suplexes him a third time.
Sami Zayn defeated Titus O’Neil
ANOTHER attempt at WWE trying to repackage, somewhat, Titus. He is now a brand called “The Titus Brand.” While this is created, he loses to Sami Zayn thanks to an exploding suplex in the corner and a Helluva Kick. Maybe WWE needs to find Sami an actual feud outside of Kevin Owens. He is too talented. Also, nothing personal to him but Titus is simply not connecting with the crowd. Is there a saving grace for him? If so, what is it?
Gallows and Anderson defeated The Golden Truth
Similar to what WWE is trying to do with Sami Zayn, they give their talented stars a quick match to work. Gallows and Anderson are too good to be used like this, in a way where they hit only a few offensive moves and pick up the win. I want them to be dominant and want them to showcase how good in the ring they are. Is it too much to ask for more than a five minute match with more than three offensive moves? They are the definition of TAG TEAM. Let’s see it.
