An Impressive Debut

There are many reasons to be excited about the return of the Cruiserweight Division. Tonight, we were introduced to four men and one of them is very familiar with the WWE atmosphere, environment and Universe. That man is THE Brian Kendrick.

I am so happy for this favorite of mine to be back where he belongs. I met Kendrick and he is a plethora of knowledge. No, I did not develop this deep relationship and I am not going to exaggerate our 10 minute conversation, but how he presented himself and what he knows about success outside of the machine. His charisma is oozing each time he walks out and he is very odd. Odd could be the best compliment because it makes him unique in the ring. I can’t wait to see his second run in WWE, hoping he is not just a veteran who is helping the young guys. That will come in a few years.

Cedric Alexander is a gifted athlete with unlimited potential. He steals the show with his flash, his athleticism and his perfect look as a wrestler. This is the prototypical guy you would want to build a division around and could really shock people with his mic work down the road.

Rich Swann is flamboyant and exciting. When you watched him, his precision and timing was second to none. You see him on television and, he may not be the most ripped or athletic guy, but he just performs at such a consistent and physical level for a Cruiserweight.

Gran Metalik will certainly be used in a variety of ways, but I really hope there is more to him than guys like Sin Cara and Kalisto. Let him develop into something more than just a Lucha Libre. There is a way to build him in an intelligent and successful way. Keep it simple, but also add pieces to his personality that are unexpected.
