Shinsuke Nakamura Dissects Cutler

The NXT Champion faced a new heel in Steve Cutler to end the night. While the match lasted about 7 minutes, it showed a little bit of how much of a cocky heel Cutler can be. He is a strong and physical guy, but Strong Style won the night. It was not a surprise whatsoever and was obvious to see the champion win. I wish the match went a little longer, but it is what it is. It is a transitional main event and a week to rest Joe before he comes back to attack.

Samoa Joe played the perfect heel tonight, one who sounded sympathetic and a changed man. We all know that is not the case with him and he will be back to being the best heel NXT has to offer. I cannot wait for their rematch and do think Samoa Joe could somehow recapture the championship from Nakamura.

One thing I will credit Nakamura is that he seems to always bring his “A” game. It can be in front of 200 people of 20,000, but Nakamura has such a great combination of striking and ground technique that it is safe but explosive. This main event was good and the planting of the seeds for Samoa Joe eventually striking only makes the crowd crave their rematch. That is booking 101, folks.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
