Tag Team Action
The Shining Stars and Golden Truth do battle. Primo gets hit with a clothesline and then punches him in the face. Epico gets hits with an Inverted Atomic Drop and Primo attacks from behind. Goldust hits a body slam and R-Truth is playing Pokemon Go. He drops his phone and then heads to grab his phone. Goldust gets rolled up from behind and they lose, thanks to Pokemon Go.
Wow, that was stupid. Does WWE think people care about if wrestlers play Pokemon Go? I understand that they are trying to connect WWE with what is popular in the world, but this is still struggling to fill out 5 minutes of television.
Finn Balor
Michael Cole introduces Finn Balor and here comes the former NXT Champion. He said he needed to make an impact and out comes Seth Rollins. Seth tells Cole to take a hike and Rollins talks about Balor. He talks about his accomplishments and compares both men’s accomplishments. He makes a dig at the Atlanta Braves and the crowd begins their chants. Seth talks about it being his show and says he is the man. He talks about Seth’s laugh and Finn talks about how he beats the man. Seth and Finn get face to face, with Finn kicking Rollins to the outside. Seth retreats and Balor stands in the ring.
Seth and Finn did a great job at carrying this segment, with both men getting their opportunity to speak on what they have done. Seth cuts a great promo these days and Finn stood tall. Both men are going to put on a wrestling clinic at SummerSlam, but they needed to see some development in why they are fighting and make it personal. They did a great job doing that and I think it was just enough to get you excited three weeks away.
