5. AJ Styles – RAW
AJ Styles – The Phenomenal One. I’ll be the first to admit, I am shocked at how well Styles has
done up to this point. I consider myself pretty much a WWE only fan, so I’ve had limited
encounters with Styles up to this point, but boy were people right about him. He is the total
package. He can play a face or heel (see a theme here), but is arguably the best in-ring worker
that the Company has. I really look forward to the potential of a Rollins/Styles feud at some
point in the future.
6. Dean Ambrose – Smackdown
The Lunatic Fringe, although not my favorite character in WWE, can thrive on Smackdown. He gets a natural crowd reaction and has become the world champion when WWE needed to test out the waters. With Ambrose on Smackdown, he can really learn what it means to be more creative and crazy. Smackdown has always been a show that has been second fiddle, but this is not the time to think of it like that. So, why would you not want your current champion on a show that you are trying to make just as, if not more, important than RAW? I see a lot of potential in Ambrose and Reigns, similar to John Cena vs. Edge from 2006.
7. Kevin Owens – RAW
The number 1 rival of Josh Isenberg (see his blocked Twitter account). Like 99%
of the Internet, I love Kevin Owens. He pays such great attention to everything that it means to
be a heel, from lobbying Stephanie McMahon to remove Sami Zayn from commentary, to yelling at his opponent incessantly during a match, to arguing with other heels during a tag team match, etc. Honestly speaking, I don’t think it would be wise to ever turn Kevin Owens face. He can continuously reinvent his “heelness.” Not to mention that he can have a great match withanyone, and carry a promo as well.
8. Randy Orton – Smackdown
Bryan stole my fourth overall pick when he selected Kevin Owens, especially given how great he has been so far. Randy Orton returning and facing Brock Lesnar means both men must be on Smackdown. Also, Randy’s best work has always been on Smackdown. He can carry a feud with anyone and can be a red hot face or a dastardly heel when asked upon. I put him in the category of a guy like Chris Jericho or Seth Rollins, still with plenty in the tank and still able to get others over and potentially become a world champion in the near future. It was only a year ago where he BEAT Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. Oh, how much we forget about The Viper.
