The Club defeated The Uso’s
To kick off WWE Extreme Rules, a Tornado Tag Team match took place and did everything it really needed to do for Gallows and Anderson. Ever since they debuted, they have looked like an old school tag team with new school moves. They have such great chemistry and are great in their execution of tag team moves. I find it amazing how much people are booing Jimmy and Jey for the sole purpose of who their cousin is. Although I would have given them more offense, Gallows and Anderson pick up the win and start the night off on a good foot.
Would you have wanted to see more aggression? I know they have much more to give, but time constraints stopped them from really making a huge impact. WWE should have went further and have Jimmy and Jey stretchered out of the arena. Even if they are booked to help out Roman later in the night, it shows their guts and determination to help The Bloodline’s number one guy. There was MUCH more that could have happened, but a pretty good match nonetheless.
The Dominance is Back
Rusev and Kalisto battled for the United States Championship and it was the beginning of a new era for Rusev. Earlier in the night, Rusev and Lana did a pre-show Q&A, which showcased Rusev’s personality. Thankfully, he does not have to have a translator and can speak perfect English. I agreed with how he was booked in the beginning, but hated that he had no growth and stunted his push. Now is a different story. He becomes United States Champion again and it was the absolute best decision.
Rusev can have some excellent feuds and I think it begins with where he left off last time. A returning John Cena can certainly help Rusev get pushed back into a main spotlight. The only thing WWE needs to remember is that John Cena is who he is, win or lose. Rusev should spoil his return and have a John Cena losing streak. That is something fans are not accustomed to.
