03 Intercontinental Championship (1979-Present)

Back in the early days, belts were not more than simple metal plates. Building upon those simple designs, Intercontinental Championship belt was created to commemorate great stars and one of the best matches out there.

This belt was made famous by numerous stars of the 80’s as well as heroes of the Attitude Era. Fact that this belt is still carried into the current era speaks volumes about its lasting design, simple yet striking. However, more than looks, this belt carries weight of history. It is etched in minds of wrestling fans. Not only majestic, this belt’s greatness lies within the fact that it is still coveted by many wrestling stars.

02 WWE Undisputed Championship (2002-2005)

This belt was introduced after Wrestlemania 18. Designed to celebrate champions of WWF and WCW championships it looked great on Jericho, also making his luggage lighter, as instead of two belts he could carry only this one.

It was quite awesome belt, too. It maintained air of grandeur of its predecessor, slightly improved from older design. Being darker and rounded its appearance reflected both the current and Attitude Era perfectly. The details and symbolism were great and seeing Triple H or Brock Lesnar hoisting it really added to significance of the likes of these superstars.

01 WWF World Heavyweight Championship (1998-2002)

This belt! Oh, boy, this belt is the best one ever made. General outline was simple enough, but it was filled with symbolism and perfectly crafted elements. Winged eagle above the globe was simply such a powerful image that will go down in history as the best WWE belt of all time.

Holders of the belt make it even more magical. All the supreme stars of the industry added their legendary power to this title belt: Stone Cold Austin, The Rock, Undertaker, Triple H, Mankind, Kane, Kurt Angle, Jericho…

This belt simply looked great on all of these superstars, celebrating the most iconic matches in history of pro wrestling. We can only hope that the next belt is designed will borrow from this piece of sports history.
