Tag Team Invitational
A 4-Way match took place, with Beer Money defending the titles against The Decay, Eric Young and Bram and The BroMans. A really entertaining match and spotlight on some of TNA’s best talent. First off, I really wanted to see a championship change. Beer Money losing the titles in this type of match helps them not look extremely weak, while giving one of the new teams a sense of meaning and purpose.
I enjoy the reunion of Robbie and Jesse because they provide depth in the division. They also provide a fun gimmick that did not seem to get old. The Decay are unique and could easily be the head of the tag team division with their creativity, but I think Eric Young and Bram NEED the titles. Both guys have been booked up and down for months, with Young being the obviously better heel. Bram has one of my favorite looks in the company. A rugged, tough and naturally gifted athlete makes him marketable in many avenues as a heel. At the end of the night, Beer Money still hold supreme. It is hard to argue because of how good and over they are, but is it time for a new team?
DJ Zema Ion defeated Trevor Lee
A quick and average match between X-Division talents, with an interference at the end of the match from Eddie Edwards. With DJ Zema Ion, you have such a gifted athlete and a guy who has been at the top and at the bottom of this company. I find it amazing that he cannot keep above average for more than 1-2 months. I blame it on the booking decisions. He could really help Trevor Lee mature in the ring. He is really good, but Lee does look dangerous at times when executing his skill set. There needs to be more focus on the safety of his dance partner between the ropes.
