The First Interaction
AJ Styles and Roman Reigns kicks off Smackdown. Roman talks about not being good or bad, but being the guy. AJ comes out and congratulates him on his win, but talks about how he has performed all over the world and had to go through three guys to get this shot. Roman says to be “the guy” you have to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He says AJ will never beat him, pats him on the shoulder and walks out of the ring.
I do like this slight bully character that he is beginning to develop. Belittling his opponents is never a bad thing considering how their looks are so different. With Roman, it is about his quality and not quantity. It is the other way around for Styles, who needs more and more exposure to the live audience and to the general fan base. This could be a good feud for both men to establish what they need to establish.
Another Debut
The Vaudevillians debuted on WWE and defeated The Lucha Dragons. I will be the first to say that I loved their gimmick in NXT and find their offense very unique and entertaining. The timing is very odd for me, especially with Enzo and Big Cass getting the big rub on Monday. Also, The Colon Brothers seem to be coming to the main roster, which will give us so many teams and I fear they will be used to get other teams over. Hopefully this is not the case, but they have a VERY unique gimmick that might not connect in front of 10-15 thousand people a night over 200-300.
