Natalya defeated Summer Rae
Nattie gets the victory over Summer Rae in a pretty good bout. You can see the obvious progression from Summer, but Nattie is the definition of consistency. Again, another odd decision from WWE not going back to Sasha/Becky/Charlotte of some sort and giving Natalya the opportunity. I am not completely against it, but why would they just suddenly stop Sasha and Becky? Especially since they were so hot, it really bothers me that they get stepped over so fast.
What will come out of this? Will Natalya be the one to dethrone Charlotte? Maybe it is just a 1-2 month program to help Charlotte step away from the other two women and focus on being the best heel possible.
The Miz Retains Over Zack Ryder
Zack Ryder hits a dropkick off the ring apron that sends Miz back first to the barricade. And then gets dragged into the ring for a two count. The Miz connects with a boot and then a chin lock. Ryder fights out, but then gets hit with a neck breaker. Some quick strikes and then a boot to the head for a two count. Another series of reversals and then The Miz counters with a sit down powerbomb.
As Ryder gets in control, lands a series of back elbows and then hits a Broski Boot. Ryder rolls Miz back into the ring and then hits a flying elbow drop for a two count. The Miz gets up and then Mayrse rips the turnbuckle pad to distract Ryder. Miz hits his finisher for the win.
The best part about this match was that they were given plenty of time. Time to develop an intriguing and dramatic story. Close falls and smooth timing were the story of this match, one that had the perfect amount of Maryse to help her husband retain. Zack and Miz really put on one hell of a match. In the days of NXT talent taking over and newer stars being made, this is very nice to see these guys get time and produce a really compelling match. Good spots, good counters and an overall really good championship match. Miz wins makes sense.
