Nostalgia Will Harm WWE
I will be the first to say that I was excited to see the legends return to WWE for a pop. Stone Cold, HBK, Mick Foley and The Rock all made impacts on the show tonight. My problem is that none of the heels looked strong, thanks to their returns. What would be a better way for The Wyatt Family or The League of Nation to look strong than to take out four men who made their names at WrestleMania? I am not saying Erick Rowan should have defeated The Rock, but a beating or attack after the match by at least ONE of these groups would have done wonders.
This continues to be the problem for WWE, as they had a show that focused more on their history than their future. Also, don’t you think The New Day should have won tonight as well? They are the most OVER group of guys that WWE has right now. They continue to develop an extremely unique persona and add layers to their characters. Losing to The League of Nations was literally just for the legends to make an appearance. Not a good idea.
If I am rating it as a Casual fan, I say 8. If I am rating it as someone who views the product as it should…
WWE Women’s Championship
This could be the best spot the Women of WWE are in in a decade. Expect some of these women to main event Raw shows and Pay-Per-Views in the near future. The WWE Women’s Championship is a great idea and one of the best parts of the night. When you brand a division to take them seriously as a creative unit, the fans will accept this change. The three women put on one hell of a Triple Threat. The spots were there, the drama tied in with all three women and I really stand by my reasoning of Charlotte winning. She is the new John Cena. Love her or hate her, she is best for business as WWE Women’s Champion. Kudos to Becky and Sasha, continuing to evolve and connecting with the audience in different facets.
