Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “Depth Is Their Key To Success”

Plenty of Depth in the World Title Picture

Eric Young and Jeff Hardy battled to kick off Impact in an excellent match that gave Jeff the chance to be in the world championship match against his brother and EC3. With his addition into the match, it made for a more personal, physical and fast main event. They had to spice it up a bit, as EC3 and  Matt have dominated (justifiably so) in main events recently. With this match to end Impact, it seemed as if Matt Hardy would be able to escape again as champion. When Hardy began to trash the crowd after some involvement with Mike Bennett and others, Drew Galloway came down and cashed in. After a Future Shock DDT, Galloway walks out of Impact Wrestling as the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

What a hectic ending, but the development and surprise was really good. I enjoyed how TNA tied in Jeff/Matt feud without having the ultimate payoff. I love how they continue to make sure EC3 gets a huge spotlight and the feeling he continues to get screwed over. The fans love him. I also thought Mike Bennett beating Galloway earlier in the night, even though Galloway did not take the pin in the mixed tag team match, showed that he is going to continue to be that guy on the cusp of main event matches. He is still young, so he has plenty of time to get to get to the top of the company.

It might be hard to juggle all of these great acts, but TNA has more depth at the top than ever before. The main event showcased the best heel, two of the best faces and the up and coming guy that has been ready for a championship run for many years. Do you like the ending? Was it too much or just enough? Can’t you see excellent promo work from a pissed off Matt Hardy and Reby Sky? Matt was a stellar heel champion, but this is going to be fun to see how all of these pieces fit.
