The League of Nations Strikes Out
They faced off against Lucha Dragons and Neville. Yes, there were some fun moves to see including all three men taking out the heels on the outside. Yes, Sheamus, Del Rio, Rusev and Barrett are really good, but are they good together?
I will be honest in saying that I thought this could be a good idea, but since they have gotten together nothing positive has happened. They lost both titles and have fallen from John Cena, Roman Reigns and Dolph Ziggler to The Lucha Dragons and Neville. That is a big step down. What is the solution?
Sheamus chases a title, even if he is one of two or three guys doing it. Give two of the other guys a chance to become a tag team and then finally let Barrett get healthy enough to compete. Man, that guy is extremely injury prone and it is a shame. I can remember his matches with Randy Orton on Smackdown a few years ago. He has the ability to do so much, yet he gets in his own way. Either way, they are struggling to stay relevant. The only thing keeping them on the card each week is that they have established names and two of them are former world champions.
Becky Lynch defeated Naomi
A quick contest between two Divas who will be facing off at WWE Fastlane with partners. Lynch is able to connect with multiple punches and kick combinations and then hits a nice boot to her face. Naomi throws her down by the hair, but it does not take long for Lynch to make Naomi tap out. Naomi and Tamina begin to attack and out comes Sasha Banks. She slowly makes her way to the ring and then finally gets in. The heels flee the scene.
An average match, but Sasha coming down the way she did helps her personality. She looks confident and still keeps her somewhat “loner” personality. She is too good to be paired in a friendly manner with anyone. I am not too excited about the tag team match because how predictable it is, but I do think it’s a nice change of pace to put two women’s matches on the card. I would prefer them on the pre-show, still getting some level of importance.
