AJ Styles vs. The Miz

The Miz with a sleeper hold to Styles. Styles with a jaw breaker. Miz with a back/neck breaker to AJ Styles for a one count. Miz shoves his knee in the back of Styles head. Miz with a running boot to the back Styles head for a one count. Styles chops Miz in the chest.Miz with a knee to the midsection of Styles. Miz with a running boot for a two count. Styles with a series of right hands to Miz. Miz with a clothesline for a one count. Miz with more boots to the face of Styles. Styles rolls Miz up for a two count. Styles with a big clothesline to Miz. Miz sends Styles to the ring apron. Miz and Styles collides into each other with double clotheslines. Styles with a flying forearm for a two count.

Styles with a spinning back-fist to Miz. Miz with a inverted DDT for a two count. Miz goes for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Styles counters with a Pele Kick for a two count. Styles goes for the Styles Clash, but Miz sends Styles to the corner. Styles with a flying forearm off the top rope. Styles and Miz exchange back and forth roll ups. Styles locks in the Calf Crusher and Miz taps out. After the match Chris Jericho comes into the ring and congratulates AJ on his victory. Jericho is not surprise by how good he is. Jericho wants to know if Styles is great. Does Styles has what it takes to become WWE Champion or even having our own WWE Network Show? Does Styles has what it takes to beat him twice. Jericho challenge Styles to a rematch for next week’s SmackDown. Jericho tells Styles to prove it. Styles agrees to the match.

An excellent match between AJ and The Miz on Smackdown. We tend to forget how good The Miz can be in the ring at times because it is so rare to see him in a match for more than 5 minutes. The tempo and the smooth transitions between moves were really good to see from him and AJ’s execution is second to none. With Chris Jericho challenging AJ Styles, one can only imagine a third and final match will take place at WWE Fastlane. After that, who the hell knows where both men go from there? Jericho could potentially be a wild card for a match against The Undertaker, while I want AJ vs. Ambrose. AJ Styles needs gold sooner rather than later and this could be a great opportunity for him and a possible anti- Ambrose character.
