Beginning of a Rise
So, Titus O’Neil picks up a win on Raw over Tyler Breeze. I could talk for two pages about what is going on with Breeze and how disappointing it has been so far. Instead, the bigger outcome is that Titus O’Neil is beginning to get a push. Rightfully so, Titus has the look and the strength. One of the things I noticed is that a casual watcher of WWE said “this guy looks pretty good.” First impressions are huge, especially for a guy like Titus.
Many know what he has accomplished so far, but the sky could be the limit. WWE loves former athletes and he has a great look and a great charisma about him. One thing he can do is WRESTLE. He is not a muscle head with no agility and speed. With more matches by himself, I do think it can only get better for O’Neil. The match was basic, average and nothing amazing. None of these will for Titus until they find out where they want him to go. Similar to how they booked Ryback.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Kevin Owens
A great match, as expected, between two former champions. With Dolph Ziggler, he will always be reliable and a consistent performer. We all want him to be better booked than he is. I, for one, think he could be championship material again. I would not place any bets on it, but his championship cash-in should not be forgotten when looking at a guy that can impact a crowd at the snap of his fingers.
Kevin Owens could be the best heel in the company right now. People cheer for him when his music hits, but the cheers go to boos when he begins to talk trash in the ring. It is very natural and very controversial at times. His style matches with Dolph’s so well and it was a great back and forth contest. Was I surprised Dolph won? Yes, but I shouldn’t be. It is what we are accustomed to. After tonight, I am not sure WWE wants Kevin Owens in a big feud like The Undertaker or Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. I could be wrong and this could be a filler leading into WWE Fastlane, which seems like such an inconvenience right now for the company.
