It’s really bad programming. The crowd was dead all night.
The New Day is kind of over. So they’ll be force-fed to the marks until they’re hated. That’s what happened to Reigns. Except he was never kind of over.
The fatal four-way between four-man teams was, indeed, fatal…to my attention span. The few guys who are kind of over got smothered by the majority who aren’t.
There is a ton of fresh talent to work with. So we get Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno. Yeah, their alliance with the Dudleyz makes sense. But is it really necessary to go back to the prior millennium in pursuit of historical accuracy? Let the Dudleyz make new friends. Better yet, ditch ‘em. Or dump D-Von and let Bubba be Bully Ray, his most effective role and one that isn’t horribly stale and dated.
I was confused by the “Divas” segment. Using Miz as the fulcrum was a sure loser. Interviewers aren’t supposed to make it about themselves. Miz always does, and he long ago stopped being even a fraction of a star.
So, is Paige the ‘face now? If so, is that the best you can do for a “turn”? If Paige is the ‘face, why didn’t she stay and fight? If Charlotte is the ‘face, why does she need somebody in her corner to give her a numbers advantage?
If WWE truly believes the concept of ‘faces and heels are dead, they need more precise booking, higher quality character development and better performers.
Either that, or Dewey Foley. I’m sure he’ll solve everything.
In conclusion: Neener, neener.
