Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “More Wrestling, Less Talking”

Mahabali Shera vs. Kenny King

impact wrestlingShera, who has been given a huge opportunity, faces off against Kenny King tonight in a World Title Series match. I get it. I understand the marketing potential with Shera heading back to his homeland, but is he really known there yet? What has he accomplished to have, seemingly, an entire tour built around him?

The match tonight was average at best. There were times where he looked a little slower and did not keep up with King. I am not in the shape he is, but you can tell the guy needs to work on some cardio. He has a good look for the 1990’s. I want more than the generic create-a-wrestler on a video game. I am just not connecting with him right now.

Eric Young vs. Bobby Roode

Once again, TNA relies on their veterans to carry the main event. Young and Roode know each other so well, so it is nearly impossible to have a bad match. They delivered again tonight and kept it simple. They both cut promos earlier in the night to hype their main event. TNA decided to go with Eric Young as the winner tonight, which makes sense.

When you have guys so similar, you need to exchange wins. Young has been so productive and dynamic as a heel, while Roode uses his credibility and legacy to carry him with the fans. A combination of technique and intelligence is what brings greatness out of these type of matches. I view this as Sheamus vs. Randy Orton. Yes, we have seen it time and time again but it still delivers in the ring. That is the most important piece during this entire World Title Series. Deliver inside the ropes.
