Cen hits some shoulder blocks and then connects with a 5 Knuckle Shuffle. He sets him up form the AA, but a backstabber and a kick to his face gets him the championship.
We know what we are going to get with Del Rio inside of the ring. He is excellent, but his weakness has always been strong character development and progression. With Zeb Colter by his side, this could actually work. I, along with everyone else, was very surprised to see the return of Del Rio tonight.
As much as he was stagnant before leaving WWE, they need a Mexican wrestler that connects with the crowd. Lucha Dragons do only so much. The match was good, as you can tell Del Rio is in better shape and will continue to get his wrestling legs under him…if he ever lost them which I doubt. The ending seemed abrupt, but good for WWE to bring back a guy that could have a few more great years left in him. Nice surprise, but Del Rio needs to become a sports entertainer just as much as a wrestler.
Hell in a Cell
Roman Reigns and Bray kick off the first of two matches with some physicality. Bray throws his body into Reigns inside the cell and on the cage. Back and forth both men go, Bray takes out Roman and then he grabs a table.
Inside the cell, both men are on the top rope. They exchange punches and Reigns powerbombs him through a table. Bray kicks out at two. Bray Wyatt tries to hit Sister Abigail, but Roman reverses it and gets a two count. Both men head to the outside and Roman Spears Wyatt from the apron through a table set up outside. Roman gets to his feet and tries to set him up for another Spear. Bray hits Sister Abigail and then Roman kicks out once again at two. A Kendo Stick comes into play and he smashes Roman in the face. Wyatt sets up two Kendo Sticks on the ropes in the corner and Roman throws him into the Sticks. Roman hits a Spear and picks up the win.
I really enjoyed the intensity and physicality of this match. Roman Reigns really did a great job carrying much of this match. There needed to be some sort of finality and I knew Roman desperately needed the victory. He has continued to improve in all areas and Wyatt is a guy that can bounce back with a great feud. He does need something more than a random match here and there. With a revitalized Wyatt Family, I expect big things.
Great match between two excellent opponents who have such a bright future ahead of them. Shockingly great match.
