A British Point of View: NXT Respect Delivers & I Have a Meltdown

The New Day are proving that being yourselves as a character works! Sasha Banks and Bayley are also doing the same thing. When you make talent feel like they will lose their spot or get fired for calling the crowd ‘fans’ instead of the ‘WWE Universe’ or you provide them with a complete script that they cannot deviate from then you’re creating an environment which will always struggle to excel.

If WWE slackened up in these areas just a little and in an alternate universe was able to go back down to two hours every week for RAW, then things would appear so differently. Time would matter, things would be done for a purpose and not just thrown in there for advertising time and we all know that the in ring product has never been better.

NXT is a breath of fresh air, it’s what WWE should be but cannot be due to restrictions. WWE tries to cater for everyone and satisfies the few. Ratings reflect this with constant dropping numbers, and they will continue to fall until something changes.

WWE won’t advertise NXT programming but NXT will promote WWE programming. I could understand this more if NXT was a PG-13 rated product but it’s just as suitable for children to watch as mainstream WWE programming so why not promote it?

Loyal WWE fans who have watched throughout the good and bad times will always be there. I know, I’m one of them. I cannot imagine a time when I’ll turn WWE off, and unfortunately I feel that WWE is taking me and these loyal fans for granted. Something needs to change and I hope it does because mainstream WWE programming is struggling and a creative spark needs to take place. Have Cena turn heel, do something DIFFERENT, ANYTHING, DIFFERENT!!

Thank you for this week’s wrestling therapy session, see you all again next week, same bat time, same bat channel.

Check out this week’s IWC Radio where I go on this tirade. I also go on one about TNA Bound for Glory (Didn’t we all?). You can follow me on Twitter @BeansOnToastUK and give the show a follow and listen over on @TheIWCRadio.
