Roman Reigns vs. Luke Harper
Reigns and Harper do battle on Smackdown, with a pretty solid match that highlighted many of the differences between the men. Harper lands a sunset flip and some great kicks until Roman came back with a Samoan drop and a Superman Punch. He finishes him off with a Spear and a victory.
I like both men for completely different reasons. Roman is mainstream, an attraction based on his look and his pedigree. Luke Harper is such an athletic guy who fights like he weighs a hundred pounds less. The match could have been better in terms of building drama inside the action, but I understood what it is meant to do.
Who do you think is better? Reigns or Harper? I can make a case for one being better for WWE and one better for the fans.
The New Day Shines
Neville and The Lucha Dragons face off against the three men in a really entertaining match. If we know one thing, we can expect high-flying and entertaining moves from Neville, Kalisto and Sin Cara. They all hit backflips to the outside and a huge splash in the ring. Furthermore, New Day is able to regroup, with Woods getting the victory after a nice kick.
The New Day are a group of pure entertainment. Neville and Lucha Dragons are an excellent Raw or Smackdown opponent. Sometimes, good wrestling and fun athleticism is needed in this division. PTP and Dudley Boys are so similar, so this was a fresh and fun match on Smackdown. I just wish WWE had more for Neville, who is stellar in between the ropes. Maybe he needs a mouthpiece to do the talking for him. But, who?
Cesaro vs. Bo Dallas
More time was put into this match than I expected. Cesaro was slow out of the gates, which allowed Dallas to get some of his offense going quick. Cesaro would settle in, hitting some patented uppercuts and Bo slows him down with a headlock. Cesaro wraps Dallas shoulders around his back and connects with the Okalhoma Roll for the win.
A few new moves from Cesaro, but nothing progressive. Another night of using Cesaro for absolutely nothing. When will this change?
