Isenberg Reacts: WWE Night of Champions “Night of Changes, Night of Confusion”

Seth Rollins Double Dips

Back to back. Two matches in a row for Seth Rollins at WWE Night of Champions against John Cena and Sting. Seth Rollins is the best in the world. He is stellar in the ring and can do things NOBODY ELSE CAN.

His match with John Cena was good. It was not as good as SummerSlam, but that match was excellent. Seth Rollins would lose to John Cena, clean, and lost the United States Championship.

Next up: Sting. Sting held his own for the most part, looked healthy and put on a good match. It seemed that Sting legit got hurt somewhere between the table breaking and the powerbomb into the corner, seeing him dazed and missing a clothesline. Seth would end up winning with a roll-up after a Scorpion Death Lock. After the match, Sheamus Brogue kicks him and looks to cash in. Kane returns, in a mask, and chokeslams both men. No cash in and Kane stands tall to end the night.

Why did I not like this sequence? Kane has beef with Rollins. His mask is back on. He looked like a badass. Seth put on some entertaining matches. Something is missing here. I really have a hard time explaining it, but I did not like the last half hour of the show. I think it may have to do with WWE using Sting to help the return of Kane. Are you freaking kidding me? The bigger picture tonight was about KANE?!

Sting is 0-2 in singles matches in the WWE. He got pinned clean…TWICE. I did not think he should win, but losing by a roll-up does nothing for me to want to see Sting again.

Flat. Stale. That is what tonight’s main events felt for me.
