Charlotte defeated Nikki Bella
Charlotte and Nikki started off hot, with Charlotte immediately attacking Nikki. She would soon get beaten down continuously, as Nikki focused on the knee and really worked her over. Stomps, submission holds and more stomping grounded the daughter of Ric. Nikki applies a sleeper hold until Charlotte hits a few chops. Charlotte connects with a big boot for a two count. Nikki hits a few suplexes into the corner, which makes Charlotte bounce off the bottom rope. Charlotte spears Nikki in mid air. Charlotte applies the figure eight and Nikki taps out.
The booking of this match shocked me. I never expected Nikki to be in complete control of the match, with Charlotte pulling off “Super Cena” at the end. I liked it though because Charlotte KNOWS how to SELL. She made Nikki look dominant and took advantage like a true professional at the end of the match. This needs to be the first step in revamping an entire division.
Nikki and Brie should stay on Total Divas. Nikki has made strides and could be the best heel in the division right now. With that being said, it is time to move on from her. Sasha, Bayley, Paige, Naomi, Natalya and Becky Lynch. Build it around the core of women that give us what women’s wrestling truly is. Develop a division with more depth in actual wrestling than anything else. Storylines can be difficult at times for women in this sport, even if it is not their fault. A big step in the right direction happened tonight.
@JoshIsenberg4 @WRESTLEZONEcom #WWENOC was better on paper than presented. Outcomes were decent, but the 2 roll up finishes really irked me!
